Mangkhap festival is celebrated after plantation season. This festival is an occasion to thank God for in time rain, it is celebrated with utmost economy considering the lean period ahead, and hence is not a colorful festival, rituals thanksgiving to almighty is performet and no entertainment beside eating and drinking beer. Mangkhap Phanit festival is celebrated mainly to evoke the blessing of Almighty for bearing more fruit from the seeds sown. Now adays christian celebrate Mangkhap festival in the church. |
